Founded in 2011, CorpsAfrica provides the opportunity for Africans to serve as Volunteers in their own countries. We train college-educated young Africans and deploy them to live for one year in rural, high-poverty communities to facilitate small-scale, high-impact projects that are identified by local people. CorpsAfrica aims to promote a culture of public service in Africa by giving participants the opportunity to apply their education, skills, and energy toward helping their fellow citizens overcome extreme poverty.
Position Overview:
The Regional Manager is a key driver of the organization’s regional growth, leading the setup of new country offices, forging strategic partnerships, and ensuring operational excellence. The position will execute expansion plans, navigate complex environments, and deliver measurable results, all while supporting the Regional Director. This role requires a proactive leader with strong strategic, operational, and relationship-building skills to expand the organization’s impact across the region.

REPORTS TO: Regional Director – Country Offices
Key Responsibilities:
New Country Office Setup and Expansion:
- Lead scouting trips in collaboration with the Regional Director and senior Program Team to identify opportunities for program expansion through situational analyses and stakeholder mapping.
- Build and nurture relationships with government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and potential partners in new countries.
- Provide technical and logistical support for country registration, staffing, infrastructure, and operational setup.
- Facilitate clear communication between new country teams and regional/global leadership during early-stage program development.
- Develop and present strategic recommendations on new country engagements to senior leadership.
Regional Management Support:
- Support the Regional Director in coordinating activities across country offices, including coaching, documentation, reporting, and follow-up on organizational priorities such as risk management, safety and security, financial management, staff development, and strategic planning.
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluating the performance of country offices, providing hands-on support to address identified gaps.
- Assist in organizing regional forums, training sessions, and leadership development initiatives.
- Assume short-term responsibilities of the Country Director when necessary and serve as a stand-in for the Regional Director in internal and external meetings.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development:
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with regional organizations aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Support due diligence and vetting processes for new and emerging collaborations.
- Represent the organization at regional meetings, government forums, and stakeholder engagements as delegated.
Operational:
- Collaborate with global and regional teams to ensure that new and existing offices adhere to organizational standards for financial management, legal compliance, risk mitigation, safety and security, safeguarding, and strategic planning.
- Oversee operational rollout plans to ensure timely execution and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience in international development or humanitarian work, with at least 2 years in a multi-country or regional support role and at least three years as a Country Director.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing or supporting the launch of new programs or country offices.
- Strong project management and operational planning skills.
- Proven ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, partners, and community actors.
- Experience working across different cultural and organizational contexts.
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, public administration, business, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
- Fluency in English and French required; additional regional language (e.g., Portuguese, Arabic) is a strong advantage.
