CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, exempt

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary range is $85,000-$95,000 commensurate with experience. CorpsAfrica offers a comprehensive benefits package including employer paid medical insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

Overview of the Position:

This is an exciting new role to support CorpsAfrica's growing donor base.  The Donor Relations Manager supports a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization by focusing on cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors to ensure ongoing philanthropic support. This position will be responsible for identifying and qualifying potential donors, developing and implementing donor relations strategies, and managing communication and stewardship efforts. This role involves both direct contact with donors and behind-the-scenes work to track, analyze, and report on donor activities. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Manage projects related to donor relations, such as developing communication materials, organizing events, and tracking donor activity.
  • Managing Donor Communication: Responding to donor inquiries, providing updates on the organization's activities, and expressing gratitude for their support. 
  • Identifying and Qualifying Prospects: Identifying potential donors, evaluating their capacity to give, and assessing their interest in the organization's mission. 
  • Donor Acknowledgments: Provide supporters with donor reports and communicate the organization’s needs and the donor’s impact on their giving. 
  • Implementing Donor Relations Strategies: Create and implement plans to engage with donors, including communication strategies, recognition events, and stewardship programs. 
  • Tracking and Reporting:  Utilizing CorpsAfrica’s CRM (fundraising management system) to track donor information, analyze data, and produce reports on donor activity and fundraising performance. 
  • Stewardship and Recognition: Develop stewardship plans to thank and recognize donors for their contributions, fostering a sense of appreciation and continued engagement.
  • Collaboration: Working with other development team members, including communications, communications, and grant making professionals, to ensure a cohesive approach to fundraising.  

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as marketing, business, or communications. 
  • Non profit Experience with private philanthropy is needed, with 3-5 years working with donor relations, database management, or grant research.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects are crucial. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suites, and donor database systems like Blackbaud/Raiser's Edge/Donor Perfect is needed.  Salesforce and Wealth Engine experience is a plus. 
  • Ability to multitask with several donor stewardship projects and supporting the overarching fundraising strategies, knowledge of working with a budget for donor mailing projects is preferred. 
  • Understanding of fundraising principles, including major gift stewardship, and solicitation, planned giving, and grant writing, is needed.  Familiarity with AFP’s Donor Bill of Rights is a plus. 
  • Highly collaborative style and demonstrated ability to work across cultures. 
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
  • A strong commitment to the mission of CorpsAfrica is required, with a desire to support youth leadership, participatory community development, impact evaluation, transparency, and accountability.
